1958 Belgium Browning SA-22. I recently bought a Browning SA-22 that may have been made in 1958. Condition is very good bluing with wood having finish flaking and some scratches. It has the stock screw under the grip area, wheel sight, large loading port and serial number on butt plate plus front of receiver group and a grooved receiver.

Every gun I have seen from 1966-1968 had the year before the L and a SN between 35000 and 45999 (i.e. 8L45123). In 1969 and later production they all had the L and two digit date code at the end of the serial number (i.e. 64444L69).

The T series ran until 1972-1975. Most people site 1969 being the last year of the T series but I have seen high serial number versions which have date codes that tell us that they were assembled in 1973+. These guns are more like C series guns but still have a slightly higher value than a C series of the same year.
